Scandic Imatran Valtionhotelli (Imatra State Hotel) is the perfect hotel for an unforgettable, unique stay. This castle-like hotel was built in 1903 and it stands on the shore of the Imatrankoski rapids. Imatrankoski rapids has been a tourist attraction since the 18th century.

The construction of the Imatra hydroelectric power station in 1929 blocked the rapids, but rapids shows are still organized on summer evenings.
