This large adventure playground near Engelberg is a real treat for families. The main attraction is the large pond with wooden rafts that the kids can push around, Huck Finn style. I was surprised how entertaining this simple activity was for a group of kids.
There's a castle-like structure with suspension bridge and traditional playground equipment, like slides and climbing structures.
Location: Horbisstrasse 50, 6390 Engelberg. There is street parking near the playground. By public transport, take a bus to Engelberg, Brunnibahn, then 15 min walk.
Next to the playground, you'll find a big picnic area with grills and tables. The community charges a small fee for the wood if you want to build a fire.
It's a private playground with a sign requesting you to leave a cash donation in a dropbox near the entrance to help maintain the facilities.
This is a nice add-on after visiting one of the other mountain areas in the Engelberg area, like the Brunni Tickle Trail or Trübsee Smugglers trail. The whole place has a bit of magic, a good place for your kids to use their imagination.
