Peruvians are warm, polite, and proud of their heritage. In rural communities, modest dress is appreciated. Always ask before taking photos of people—especially in traditional attire, as many expect a small tip. Handshakes are common greetings, and saying “buenos días” or “gracias” with a smile shows respect. In markets, bargaining is expected, but always done respectfully and with humor.
