Ausangate, also known as Auzangate, is a majestic mountain in the Andes of Peru, standing tall at 6,384 meters. This peak holds significance in Incan mythology and is revered as a divinity by the local communities. Every year, the Quyllur Rit'i festival attracts Quechua pilgrims to celebrate near Ausangate. The area is home to llama and alpaca herding communities, making it one of the few remaining pastoralist societies in the world. Additionally, the region boasts stunning geological features like hanging glaciers and colorful rock formations, attracting climbers and trekkers from around the globe.
