Laguna Azul is a serene, turquoise lake on the northeastern side of Torres del Paine National Park, offering one of the best vantage points to admire the iconic Torres (Towers) from a distance without a strenuous hike. Surrounded by open steppe, lenga trees, and abundant birdlife—including guanacos grazing nearby and flocks of waterfowl on the lake—it provides a peaceful, less-crowded alternative to the park’s busier trails. On clear days, the reflection of the granite towers in the calm waters makes for spectacular photographs, and the area is also rich in wildlife viewing opportunities, making it a favorite picnic and photography stop.
IMPORTANT: Access to Torres del Paine National Park requires purchasing a ticket in advance via the CONAF portal at https://pasesparques.cl .
This ticket must be bought online before your visit, and the park only accepts entrance with a valid pass—either printed or stored on your mobile device—along with your ID.
