The Líraberg hike on Sandoy offers an easy trek with stunning views of sea stacks and dramatic cliffs along the weather-beaten west coast. Starting from the village of Skopun, the trail takes you through peaceful and open landscapes, perfect for a short but rewarding adventure.
You can drive past the village toward the trailhead, but please note the road becomes narrow, starting with asphalt and turning into gravel, and there are no designated parking spots at the end.
Local tip: It's best to park your car in Skopun and walk to the trail sign at the end of the road. If you do decide to drive closer, be sure to leave enough space for other cars to pass safely.
From the trail sign, follow the red posts that guide you all the way to Líraberg.
The hike ends with a gentle climb up a grassy hill, rewarding you with spectacular panoramic views over Sandoy’s rugged coastline, including a distant view of the striking sea stack Oknadalsdrangur.
