Akraberg Lighthouse, located at the southern tip of Suðuroy, stands tall at 14 meters with a white cylindrical tower topped by a red lantern roof. Built in 1909, it flashes two long beams every 20 seconds in different colors depending on the direction. Once home to a lighthouse keeper and his family, the site is now automated but still requires regular maintenance. Nearby, you'll find the unique Blæing area with its colorful rocks and remnants of a Frisian colony dating back to the 11th century.
