The Church of Fámjin, located in the village of Fámjin on Suðurpy, is a historic gem with some cool stories attached to it. Built in 1875, this church is not your average place of worship. Inside, you'll find a runestone from the 16th century and the prototype of the Faroese flag, Merkið. Yep, that's right – the original flag of the Faroe Islands was first hoisted here in 1919 during a wedding. Talk about a unique piece of history! So, if you're ever in Fámjin, make sure to swing by the church and soak up some of that fascinating island lore.
