Eysturoyartunnilin is a groundbreaking subsea tunnel connecting Streymoy and Eysturoy, stretching 11.24 km and reaching depths of up to 189 m below sea level.

At its core lies the world’s first underwater roundabout, located 73 m beneath the fjord, an engineering marvel and the only one of its kind in the world.

This unique junction also serves as an immersive art installation, featuring illuminated rings of human silhouettes by Faroese artist Tróndur Patursson. Often described as a glowing jellyfish, it transforms a simple drive into a brief but unforgettable visual experience.
