Restaurante O Portão is one of our go-to spots for traditional Portuguese food in Funchal!

It’s a cozy little restaurant tucked away in the old town, and the food is great. They've got all the classic Madeiran dishes such as Espetada (beef skewer) and Espada (black scabbardfish with banana). They also bake their own bread!

It’s a great spot for dinner after a day of exploring 🫶🏼
