Gamli Baukur has been the landmark of Húsavík’s harbor for centuries. The restaurant is located in the centre of town right at the seaside and has a magnificent view over the harbor. A warm maritime decor invites guests to spend a pleasant time either inside overlooking the incoming boats or outside sunbathing on the patio.
The maritime theme reflects also on the menu, which resembles local traditions as well as new compositions but with a strong focus on seafood. High quality ingredients are a must and often come from local resources. In the evening a cosy atmosphere evolves in one part of the restaurant for guests who prefer a quiet surrounding, while often live musicians perform in the other part of the building.
