The Knockmealdown Mountains, located on the border of Ireland's Waterford and Tipperary counties, give nature-lovers plenty of places to explore. The mountain range's highest peak is Knockmealdown, where visitors can take in its beautiful views from 'The Vee', a high pass that runs along the western side of the summit. Outdoorsy types can spot wild animals such as red grouse, hen harrier, cuckoo, nightjar and buzzard while hiking around the area.
