The Valentia Island Lighthouse is a must-visit destination on the Skellig Coast of the Wild Atlantic Way. Situated on the exposed south-west coast of Ireland, at Cromwell Point the lighthouse stands proud against the backdrop of dramatic scenery and distant views of the Atlantic Ocean. Being both an artillery fort (from 17th century) and a 19th century lighthouse, the building holds many stories and interesting facts about history and science.
