Alright, if you wanna check out Abel Tasman, here’s the deal. It’s all beaches, bush, and boats, but no driving in, so you gotta grab a water taxi or jump on a tour to get started. The Abel Tasman Coast Track is the best way to see the park. It’s about 60 km long, but you definitely don’t need to do the whole thing. Here are some good day walks I’d recommend:
Torrent Bay to Bark Bay – about 7 km, takes 2 to 3 hours
Bark Bay to Onetahuti – around 6.5 km, 1.5 to 2 hours
Onetahuti to Awaroa – close to 7 km, 1.5 to 2 hours
Anchorage Bay to Bark Bay – roughly 12 km, around 4 hours (My personal suggestion)
Water taxis run between most beaches and cost about 40 to 80 bucks, depending on where you’re heading. If you’re keen for something easy and organised, there are tours that mix walking and cruising, prices start around $100 to $130.
