Did you know that you could get up close with big brown bears in Finland? It's an amazing and thrilling experience!

Wild Brown Bear Oy is one of the best places in the world to spot wild brown bears. Located near the Finnish-Russian border, their private nature conservation area provides a safe and calm environment for these majestic animals.

Photographers from all over the world visit this place to shoot amazing footage during the season (april - october). They usually stay in the very basic hide-out shelters, but as a normal visitor you can book one of the five luxury cabins and enjoy watching wild bears from the comfort of your bed. If you are VERY lucky you can even spot wolverines or wolves in their natural habitat.

These luxury bear watching cabins are truly unique in the world and I enjoyed every second of my 3-day stay. The cabins are equipped with a shower, toilet, kitchen and a comfortabel desk with binoculars. There's even an audio system with an amplifier, that catches all the noises from outside, so you truly feel like you are staying outside between the bears.

An overnight stay in one of these luxury cabins start at €495 per person. It isn't cheap, but this bucket list experience is something to splurge on. Please note that there's a night clock, which means you can't leave the cabin after dark. You are in an area with wild bears and wolves, so there's really no reason why you wouldn't want to lock your door after sunset.
