I did a solo trip to CR in April 2026 (female solo traveler). Jose was my guide for two days and the experience with him was the highlight of my trip. His knowledge, passion, skilled approach made the experience feel so safe and enjoyable. He knows so much about the flora, fauna and geology of CR. Aside from his knowledge, he's just one of those people that has sunlight inside that radiates all around! He took some incredible photos and videos of me during the hikes we did (Vuelta de Canon), and these have become core memories from my travels. The place he took me to were other worldly beautiful. It was absolutely magic. I would highly recommend him, especially if you are a woman traveling alone (he paired me up with another couple and another single guy).

I highly recommend José’s guide! It is honestly the most beautifully made guide I have ever seen. Even though I just came back from Costa Rica, reading through it made me want to book another flight right away.

As a foreign visitor, it can be really hard to discover hidden gems beyond the most popular tourist spots. But often, those quieter places are where you can truly enjoy nature, and they are definitely not any less amazing than the so-called “must-see” attractions.

José knows the entire country so well. As he jokingly says, he knows every rock in Costa Rica, and honestly, it’s true. Every place he took us to was absolutely breathtaking. I kept thinking how incredible it is that places like this exist on Earth and that I actually got to experience them.

He also has amazing taste in food. Every restaurant he recommended was incredible. I truly cannot recommend his guide enough!

It’s evident that Jose has combined his passion, experience, and love for nature to share with others. His jovial personality and professional level camera skills make the adventures an unforgettable time! We hiked Vuelta del Cañon and Jurassic Canyon with him. Jose provided educational information about the ecosystem and rainforest along the way, ultimately leading us to magical waterfalls and unworldly views. The added plus in hiking with Jose is his photography and cinematography skills that capture the beauty of us in the rainforest. We encountered several other guides along two days of hikes and on numerous occasions the other guides indicated we were with the best guide; Jose. I would HIGHLY recommend Jose to anyone looking for the personal and professional experience Jose offers. He’s a joy to be around and we will definitely return to join him again in the future.

Jose has created an excellent guide to Costa Rica that is both inspiring and highly practical. The map is thoughtfully structured, easy to navigate, and filled with valuable local insights that can save a lot of time when planning a trip. It’s clear that Jose put a lot of personal experience and knowledge into it. If you’re preparing a trip to Costa Rica, this guide is a fantastic resource. Great work, Jose 👍
