Blaen y Glyn is one of those places that feels truly special. Tucked away in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, these waterfalls follow the Caerfanell River through lush woodland and moss-covered rocks, creating a series of beautiful, unnamed cascades that feel totally underrated compared to much busier spots in the area.

The walk itself is short but rewarding. From the moment you arrive, you’ll hear the rush of water, and as you follow the riverside path, you’ll pass one waterfall after another — each one slightly different, and each one worth stopping for. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a nature walk without the crowds.

One of the best things about Blaen y Glyn is how easy it is to visit. It's free and works just as well as a quick stop as it does a relaxed half-day wander. Start from Blaen y Glyn Isaf car park (free) and simply follow the path along the river — there’s very little navigating required.

Good to know: The path can be muddy and slippery near the waterfalls, especially after rain.

Best time to visit: After rainfall, when the waterfalls are at their most dramatic.

Pro tip: Wear sturdy shoes and take your time — some of the best views are just a few steps off the main path.
