Make sure to get to this hike early since the parking lot fills up quickly. I'd recommend no later than 7 am to arrive. The smoky mountains now require payment for a day pass as well so make sure you pay online or at the visitor center/pay stations.

The cave area can be a little tricky with footing as you're going downhill so if you struggle with balance I'd recommend bringing hiking poles for this section. If you visit in June, you'll see a ton of rhodedendrons, dogwoods, and mountain laurel.
