When arriving in New Zealand, be prepared for a thorough customs process. Officials take their role seriously and pay close attention to your documents and any forms you submit. Even if you have nothing to declare, it’s common for your bags to be screened or scanned as part of routine security measures.  Expect detailed inspections and allow yourself some extra time at the border. Being upfront and organised with your paperwork will help the process go smoothly! The customs officers in New Zealand are incredible nice and helpful, but they are serious about protecting our country.
