Como Cathedral, also known as Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta or Duomo di Como, is a Catholic cathedral located in the city of Como, Lombardy, Italy. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Considered the last Gothic cathedral built in Italy, construction began in 1396 and was completed in 1770. The cathedral features an impressive west front with a rose window and statues of Pliny the Elder and Pliny the Younger, both natives of Como. Inside, visitors can admire Renaissance architecture, tapestries from the 16th century, and paintings by artists like Bernardino Luini and Gaudenzio Ferrari.
