Created by Ukrainian artist Mihály Kolodko, the "Hannah Szenes" mini-statue stands in honor of Hungarian World War Two resistance fighter and poet Hannah Szenes. The piece of art, located in Budapest, depicts a small figure holding a key that is symbolic of freedom and is a reminder to always fight for what is right. In honor of International Women's Day, Kolodko wanted to create a sculpture directed towards heroines of courage, something that would humble and move visitors. As such, this is a wonderfully whimsical way to pay tribute to women who have made an impact on the world.
