Trimpley Reservoir Loop – Water, Trains & River Fun
This is a relaxed 2–3 mile stroll to a river "beach" spot with a mix of woodland, water and the chance to spot a train! Mine absolutely love coming here and the walk there has enough to keep the kids entertained all the way there.
🚶♂️ The Walk
Follow our route here
Start at the car park (///velocity.downward.cyber) and wander down through Eymore Wood, then cross over the working Severn Valley Railway tracks (great spot for steam train fans!). Once across, enjoy the loop around the reservoir’s shore—mostly flat and easy underfoot.
💦 River Beach & Paddling Spot
Midway, there’s an off-path descent to the banks of the River Severn, where a little pebble beach awaits. Our kids loved paddling and hunting stones here it’s perfect for a riverside chill or picnic. We've seen plenty of people bringing small BBQs to make the most of it too, but as always make sure to leave no trace!
🌲 Scenic Nature
The area is a lovely mix of woodland, water, and open skies great for spotting birds or just stretching out in nature
