• VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS: 2wd if its dry, but there is a section of road about 100 yards that is deep sand. I was happy to have my 4x4 just incase, but I never needed to use it. High clearance helpful but not required. The entire access road once you turn off 191 can be found HERE.

The drop down into the Grotto can be a bit tricky. Enter the grotto from the NORTH (the closest end to you when hiking in from parking). You will find a juniper tree HERE where you will enter -- go down to the left of the tree and swing around to the front, slowly lowering yourself. It is not technical, just tricky trying to figure out the first time. You will be tempted to go right of the juniper, but its a solid drop. Go left and wind around to the front.
