Step into a world of grandeur at the Széchenyi Thermal Bath, a stunning neo-baroque palace that houses Europe's largest medicinal bath complex. You'll feel like you've traveled back in time as you explore the 18 indoor and outdoor pools, all fed by natural hot springs. The real magic happens in the vast outdoor pools, where you can soak in the steaming, mineral-rich waters even on the coldest winter day, surrounded by the beautiful architecture. It's an iconic Budapest experience, perfect for a few hours of pure relaxation and rejuvenation.

This is the “classic must-see thermal bath.” It’s very touristy but still worth it for the full Budapest bath experience.

Ticket prices:

  • Full-day ticket: HUF 6,500–8,500 (depending on weekday/weekend & peak season)

  • Cabin or locker rental: extra, around HUF 1,500–2,000

What to expect: Large outdoor and indoor thermal pools, saunas, massage services, medicinal thermal waters and classic historic bath architecture.

Time needed: 2–4 hours, depending on whether you enjoy the full spa experience.

Special tip: Bring swimwear, slippers, towel, swim cap

Crowds: Extremely popular; weekends and afternoons are busiest. Early morning or late evening is quieter.

Photo tip: Outdoor pools + steam in winter is iconic; the bright yellow facade also makes excellent photos.
