HUGE call, but Taupō Bay is my new favourite Northland beach. I visited for the first time over New Year's 2024/2025, and as we drove onto the beach, I found myself completely speechless.

This dreamy 1.5km stretch of white sand is framed by rugged cliffs and water that's so blue it looks like it's straight out of a postcard. It's easy to come here and spend an entire day soaking up the sun, strolling along the shore, or simply admiring the beauty around you.

If you love people-watching, you are going to love it here. We parked on the sand for two days straight, watching locals tow their boats in and out of the water with tractors (yes, really!)

If you want to stay in the area for a while (I can hardly blame you!) Taupō Bay Holiday Park is located right on the beachfront, and although I haven't stayed here, I have heard nothing but good things.
