Bachalpsee, or Lake Bachalp, is a stunning mountain lake in Switzerland surrounded by picturesque meadows and snow-capped mountains. Accessible via a short gondola ride from Grindelwald-First, the easy 1-1.5 hour hike to Bachalpsee offers breathtaking views and the opportunity to admire the reflections of the Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, and Finsteraarhorn in the tranquil blue waters. You can easily do this after exploring First in the morning, and continue with this hike in the afternoon. There are clear signages that indicate the direction of the trail and you can also easily follow the crowds. Note that the beginning part is the steepest and most challenging, but after about 40 minutes it gets significantly more manageable. In fact this is one of the easiest and most scenic trails in the region.
