It's hard not to love ice caves. I have been on this exact tour and I can highly recommend it. As the glaciers are constantly changing, the tours are never the same but the guides know the most interesting and suitable ice caves each season. The guides also tend to share very interesting insights and facts about the glaciers and ice caves, how they are formed etc. As much as I love for people to experience Iceland on their own, the glaciers are a different story. They can be hard to reach and they are constantly changing which can make them very unsafe at times. That's why I always recommend people go with a professional guide when it comes to glaciers. Includes all necessary safety gear but bring proper clothing, water and snacks.

QUICK NOTES:

• What it is: A tour with Tröll Expeditions into one of Vatnajökull Glacier's ice caves.

• Best season: Any but summer (late September until end of April).

• Best time of day: When the tour is available.
