Around Shiretoko-Goko is very far away from the light from the town. It is literally dark if you turn off your light. But, this location enables you to watch the tons of stars in the sky at night. I have never seen the sky full of stars in my life except for Shiretoko. Try laying down on the ground and look up the sky! You will find uncredibly numerous stars there! I highly recommend you go there if it is a clear day. You can go there by car. Please be carefull of driving in the completely dark. There are a lot of wildlives alike deers. If you worry about the driving there you can book a stargazing tour in Shiretoko.
