The Monte toboggan run in Madeira, Portugal is an exciting experience full of adventure for all travellers. Located in Funchal, the capital city of Madeira, this 2 kilometre ride is a must-do for tourists visiting the small Island. Riders will be chauffeured by two men called "Carreiros" who steer and brake the wicker basket attached to wooden runners down a curvy road reaching speeds up to 30mph. The trip takes 10 minutes and can be accessed by taking the Monte cable car from Funchal. Along with the adrenaline rush of the toboggan run, adventurers may also take the time to visit the tropical gardens at the top before the journey commences.

PLEASE NOTE! The Toboggan Ride is open daily from Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 17:45, and closed every Sunday, as well as on January 1st, August 14th & 15th, and December 25th. Ticket prices per sled are €27.50 for a single person, €35.00 for two people, and €47.50 for three people, payable directly to the operator in cash.
