This hike is a part of Caminho Real da Encumeada (PR12) with start at Boca da Corrida Viewpoint. Considered a moderately challenging hike, the cobbled 'Royal Path' crosses the mountain massif of the island and offers amazing views of the parish of Curral das Freiras, as well as tropical Laurissilva forests.
