Miradouro Despe-te que Suas is a scenic viewpoint located in the parish of Algarvia, Nordeste, on São Miguel Island. Its name, meaning “Undress Yourself,” reflects the effort it once took travelers to reach it—often leaving them so warm they’d shed layers along the way!

From this spot, you can enjoy sweeping views of the northern coastline, including the villages of Algarvia and Santana, framed by rugged cliffs and deep ravines. While this viewpoint alone may not be worth a dedicated trip, it’s a nice addition if you’re already planning to explore the Nordeste region. In the context of a broader trip to this area, stopping here can add a pleasant experience to your itinerary. In my opinion, the best time to visit is closer to sunset, when the warm light beautifully enhances the landscape. With picnic tables and benches, it’s a peaceful place to relax and take in the views.
