Miradouro do Cabo de Larano is one of the most spectacular coastal viewpoints in beautiful Madeira.

But I wouldn’t describe this viewpoint as official. There are no fences or markings here. It’s more like a spot near the parking area with a stunning view.

This Miradouro is located at the beginning of the picturesque hiking trail called Vereda do Larano. If you enjoy hiking, this trail is a must-visit for anyone coming to Madeira.

Many guidebooks suggest starting this hike from Machico, but I don’t recommend doing so because you’ll face a continuous uphill climb throughout the route. It’s much more pleasant and easier to walk these 9 luxurious kilometers on a gentle downhill slope 😉

Therefore, it’s best to begin this hike from the Cabo de Larano viewpoint, which is located near the scenic coastal town of Porto da Cruz.

However, if you’re not up for a 9-kilometer hike, you can simply drive here and admire this stunning views.
