Miradouro da Boca da Ribeira is a lovely viewpoint in the Nordeste area of São Miguel Island, Azores. Its name, “Mouth of the Stream,” comes from its location overlooking where a local stream flows into the Atlantic. This spot offers beautiful views of the rugged northern coastline, with steep cliffs and dense greenery stretching down to the ocean—a fantastic place for photos or just soaking in the scenery.

One thing that makes this viewpoint special is the nearby natural swimming area, Boca da Ribeira, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip in crystal-clear waters. Picnic tables and benches are also available, so it’s a relaxing place to take a break.

While it’s nice any time of day, it’s especially magical in the late afternoon as the setting sun casts a warm glow across the cliffs and water, creating the perfect backdrop for photos. It’s a great spot to add to your Nordeste itinerary if you’re looking for a peaceful place to unwind.
