Mirror Lakes is a short, roadside stop on the Milford Road with a small car park and an easy, wheelchair-friendly boardwalk to viewing platforms, so you can be in and out in about 10 minutes. For the classic mirror reflection photos aim for a calm morning or late afternoon when the water is still; if it is windy the reflections disappear fast. There are no real services or cafes here, so bring insect repellent, a rain shell and be prepared for limited parking at peak times. Stay on the boardwalk to protect the fragile wetlands, keep noise down and don’t feed wildlife, and use a low angle or a polarizing filter if reflections are not showing clearly.
