Hooker Valley Track is one of the easiest and most rewarding walks in New Zealand, with swing bridges, glacier rivers, and unreal views of Aoraki / Mount Cook at the end. It’s mostly flat and takes about 3 hours return, making it suitable for most fitness levels. Important: the track is currently only partially open, and access can change due to weather or track conditions, so always check the DOC website for the latest updates before you go. Wear good walking shoes, bring warm layers and water, and don’t underestimate how quickly conditions can change up here, even on a sunny day.
