If you stop at the Foreshore Walk, you get an easy, mostly flat stroll from the wharf that puts you close to towering cliffs, frequent waterfalls and good chances to see seals and seabirds, so it is ideal for quick photos and a short nature fix. Expect spray, wind and mud, so wear a waterproof jacket, warm layers, sturdy non-slip shoes and insect repellent; parts of the path can be boardwalk or wet rock. The loop only takes about 10 to 20 minutes, but services in the village are limited and tour boats operate from the pier, so check road and boat timetables and leave time to return to your vehicle. Keep your camera ready for reflections on calm moments and be prepared for sudden weather changes.
