This is the big hill with the iconic white “CORON” sign you’ll see from almost anywhere in town.
There’s a concrete staircase all the way to the top (~720 steps) and at the summit you get a wide view over Coron Bay, the islands, and the mountains inland!
It’s the go-to spot for sunset, but it’s also worth an early morning climb if you want cooler temps and fewer people.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Around 15–25 minutes of steady uphill walking.
A huge viewing platform with space to spread out.
Sunset is busiest, mornings are quieter.
No shade on the way up, so it’s hot in the middle of the day.
TO ACCESS
You can walk from Coron Town centre in about 10–15 minutes to the base of the stairs.
Trikes can drop you at the bottom if you don’t want to walk through town first.
TIPS & HACKS
Bring water/snacks, there’s no shop at the top.
Wear proper shoes, the steps are fine but it’s a lot of them.
If you’re heading for sunset, start 30–40 minutes before so you don’t miss it.
Take a torch or phone light if walking back after dark.
