This is the big hill with the iconic white “CORON” sign you’ll see from almost anywhere in town.

There’s a concrete staircase all the way to the top (~720 steps) and at the summit you get a wide view over Coron Bay, the islands, and the mountains inland!

It’s the go-to spot for sunset, but it’s also worth an early morning climb if you want cooler temps and fewer people.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Around 15–25 minutes of steady uphill walking.

  • A huge viewing platform with space to spread out.

  • Sunset is busiest, mornings are quieter.

  • No shade on the way up, so it’s hot in the middle of the day.

TO ACCESS

  • You can walk from Coron Town centre in about 10–15 minutes to the base of the stairs.

  • Trikes can drop you at the bottom if you don’t want to walk through town first.

TIPS & HACKS

  • Bring water/snacks, there’s no shop at the top.

  • Wear proper shoes, the steps are fine but it’s a lot of them.

  • If you’re heading for sunset, start 30–40 minutes before so you don’t miss it.

  • Take a torch or phone light if walking back after dark.
