This was hands-down one of the most fun things we did in Cebu!
Kawasan Falls are spectacular, with electric-blue water. Then there’s the canyoneering!
Jumps range from 3m to 12m high. You can skip the big jumps if they’re not your thing, there's always a way around them.
You need to book a tour with a licensed guide for safety reasons, though. They provide all the gear (helmet, life vest), and most tours include lunch and transport.
Here’s an excellent tour with pick-up from Cebu or Moalboal if you’re keen!
WHAT TO EXPECT
The full canyoneering experience takes 4–5 hours, starting upstream and making your way down to the main falls.
The jumps felt scary at first, but once you go for it, the adrenaline takes over.
The guides are legends! They help with safety, take photos, and keep the vibe light.
The final stop is Kawasan Falls, where you can swim in the big pool or chill out after the adventure.
Expect to get wet from the start and wear shoes with grip, not thongs.
TO ACCESS
About 45 mins from Moalboal by car or motorbike, or 3 hrs from Cebu City.
Canyoneering tours are usually ₱1,500–₱2,500 per person and include transport, gear (helmet, life jacket), and a guide.
Best to book through your accommodation in Moalboal — they’ll connect you with a local operator.
GOOD TO KNOW
Bring a dry bag if you want your phone/camera safe, otherwise let your guide handle the shots.
Red Horse beer afterwards hits hard (they’re 7%!). We learned that the next day LOL
It can get busy, especially on weekends, so try for a weekday morning.
