Siquijor is known for waterfalls, cliff jumps, and a bit of black-magic history!
We loved how chilled it felt compared to other spots. It's a bit underdeveloped compared to Cebu or even Bohol, but it’s growing fast.
The main things Siquijor is famous for are:
Cambugahay Falls, tiered cascades with rope swings and caves
Old Enchanted Balete Tree, a 400+ year-old tree with fish spa
Cliff jumping, our fave spot was Pitogo Cliff
Tulapos Marine Sanctuary, for the best snorkelling in the area (with barracudas!)
You can check most highlights on a full-day tour like this one, 100% worth it if your time is limited!
HOW LONG TO STAY?
2-3 days is perfect for Siquijor. It’s a small island and you can check most of the highlights in that time.
GETTING THERE & MOVING AROUND
From Bohol: Ferry to Siquijor, about 2-3 hrs (₱505–₱878).
From Cebu/Manila: Fly to Dumaguete, then ferry across.
Getting around: Scooter rental (₱300–₱500/day), tuk-tuks (₱10–₱30/ride), multicabs (₱150–₱300/day).
ACCOMMODATION
Siquijor is still underdeveloped, which is part of its charm. Don’t expect big resorts or hotels, it’s mostly small guesthouses, beach huts, and homestays.
Here are some recommendations:
The best “hotel-like” stays are Dolce Amore Resort (which has the BEST pizza EVER) and Aloha Seaside Resort
Best for families and groups: Tagbalayon Lodging House
Tip: We always book in places with heaps of reviews, we’ve never been scammed in the Philippines because of that.
