Built by the Spanish in the 1700s, this triangular stone fort is one of the oldest in the Philippines. There's a beautiful courtyard there, and the old walls make it a surprisingly peaceful break from the busy streets outside!

It's a nice 30 to 45-minute stop, quick but good if you’re already exploring the downtown area.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Small museum inside with artefacts from Cebu’s Spanish colonial past.

  • You can walk along the fort walls and look out over the harbour.

  • Located near Plaza Independencia, a short walk from Magellan’s Cross and the Basilica.

  • Entry fee is around ₱30 (less than $1 USD).

  • Open daily, usually 8am–8pm.
