Colon Street is right in the middle of Cebu City and has the title of being the country’s oldest street. We didn’t hang around Cebu City long (it’s not really our vibe) but if you’re passing through and want a taste of local life, this is where you’ll find it.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Busy and very local with markets, street food, jeepneys, and shops.

  • Cheap clothes and trinkets if you’re up for bargaining.

  • Not much in the way of tourist polish, it’s raw Cebu.

  • Can feel a bit hectic and gritty, especially at night.

TO ACCESS

  • Easy to reach by taxi or Grab within Cebu City.

  • Most people visit as a quick stop while in the city.

GOOD TO KNOW

  • Keep valuables close, pickpocketing is common here.

  • Visit in the daytime if you just want a look around.

  • If you’re short on time in Cebu, you could skip it and head straight for the beaches and waterfalls instead.
