We’ve swum under a lot of waterfalls in the Philippines, and Cambugahay was easily one of the most impressive… and busiest!

The falls themselves are gorgeous, with turquoise pools and even a cave tucked under one of the cascades.

But be ready for queues at the rope swings and extra charges for little things inside.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • 5–10 min walk from the carpark, fairly easy path.

  • Crowds are the norm, avoid weekends and holidays.

  • Rope swings and bamboo rafts cost extra on top of the entry.

  • There’s a small cave under one of the falls worth checking out.

  • Good for swimming, but don’t expect a peaceful dip.

TO ACCESS

  • About 20–30 min from Siquijor town on a scooter.

  • Entry fee was ₱30 per person when we visited.

  • Opens around 8:15am, getting there right on opening is your best shot at quiet.

  • Easy to add to a day trip around the island with other waterfalls or cliff jumps.
