We haven’t made it to Sumilon yet, but it’s one of the more popular side trips from Oslob.

The island is tiny and mostly known for its shifting sandbar and turquoise water, plus a resort that takes up part of it.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • The main draw is the white sandbar that changes with the tides.

  • Crystal-clear water for swimming and snorkelling.

  • Most people come on a day tour from Oslob, so it can feel busy in peak times.

  • There’s a resort on the island if you want to stay overnight, but most people do a half or full-day trip.

TO ACCESS

  • Boats depart from Bancogon Port.

  • The sandbar can completely disappear at high tide, so check the timing before you go.
