Tarsiers are tiny primates about the size of a hand with huuuge eyes. They honestly look like little Yodas, it’s adorable!

These little animals can actually die of stress, though. Which is why it’s crucial to see them in sanctuaries like this one, where they can be observed ethically.

The guides find the tarsiers each morning and quietly point them out, otherwise you’d never spot them!

If you prefer doing a full-day trip from Cebu, there are tours like this one that include the Tarsier Sanctuary, the Chocolate Hills and other highlights in Bohol

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • The sanctuary is calm and shaded, a nice break from the heat.

  • Visits are quick (30–45 mins), so it won’t take up your whole day.

  • Do it on the same day as the Chocolate Hills and Loboc River cruise, they’re all close by.

TO ACCESS

  • Entry was ₱60 last time we went.

  • The sanctuary is in Corella, about 1 hour from Panglao.

  • Often included in full-day countryside tours, but easy to DIY with a driver or scooter.
