Skeleton Wreck is one of the easiest and most accessible shipwreck dives in Coron! It’s 5 to 22 metres under the surface, so it’s perfect for both snorkellers and divers.
It’s also one of the few wrecks in Coron that doesn’t require a deep dive certification, so anyone comfortable in the water can enjoy it.
The wreck itself is the remains of a Japanese supply ship from World War II, now covered in coral and teeming with marine life.
The ship’s skeletal frame is still intact, and you can swim around and through parts of it! Schools of fish, colourful corals, and even the occasional sea turtle make it their home.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The top of the wreck is only about 5 metres down, so snorkellers can still get a good look.
For free divers and scuba divers, there’s more detail as you go deeper along the hull.
Expect plenty of marine life around the wreck, it’s become an artificial reef over the years.
TO ACCESS
Only reachable by boat on an island-hopping tour from Coron.
It's part of the pre-made tour B, like this one.
We recommend booking a private boat if possible, so you can request to go there first thing! The water is calmer, less busy and has better visibility.
Often paired with Twin Lagoon and Barracuda Lake.
TIPS & HACKS
If freediving, watch your buoyancy and be careful around the wreck to avoid scrapes.
For scuba, visibility is usually good but can drop if there’s been a lot of rain.
