Malcapuya Island is a lovely beach island in the Coron area.

It’s stretches for about a kilometre, with shallow, calm waters.

The vibe here is a lot slower than the busy lagoon and lake stops. It’s often the lunch spot on full-day island-hopping tours!

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Calm, shallow water that’s great for swimming and snorkelling.

  • Simple huts and shaded areas.

  • Occasional beach vendors selling coconuts or snacks (bring cash).

  • Epic snorkelling at the coral garden off the shore. If you don’t want to swim there, you can pay ~100₱ for a boat to take you there.

TO ACCESS

  • Reached by boat on an island-hopping tour from Coron.

  • It's part of the pre-made tour C, like this one.

  • Often combined with Banana Island and Bulog Dos Island.

  • We recommend booking a private boat if possible, so you can choose your spots, timing and avoid crowds.

TIPS & HACKS

  • If you want more time here, request it on a private tour. Most group tours only give you an hour or so.

  • Bring cash for coconuts or snacks, there are no ATMs.

  • Wear reef-safe sunscreen and bring your own snorkel if you have one.

  • Great spot for drone shots if you have one, the sand and water colours really pop from above.
