Welcome to what is likely the most photographed mountain in all of Iceland! Just a short, five-minute stroll from the car park brings you to the classic viewpoint, where the Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall perfectly frames the uniquely shaped peak. It's a stunning sight year-round; you might catch it set against the midnight sun in summer or, if you're lucky, with the Northern Lights dancing above it in winter. For the adventurous and experienced, a treacherous trail with fixed ropes leads to the summit, but a much safer and scenic path circles the base of the mountain, offering incredible views from every angle.
