Just a short detour off the main road, you'll find Gluggafoss, one of our lovely local secrets. It's a unique waterfall that has carved curious 'windows' into the soft rock cliffside. A short, easy walk of about 15 minutes from the car park brings you right to its base, where you can even peek behind the lower cascade. For the best views of the gorge and the upper falls, take the slightly steeper path up the grassy hill—it's well worth the little bit of effort for the perspective and the peaceful atmosphere, away from the bigger crowds.
