Siida is a place where you can learn about the Sámi culture and the northern nature. It is a museum and a nature centre in Inari, that has exhibitions, events, a library, a café and a shop. Siida also has an outdoor museum that shows the traditional buildings and livelihoods of the Sámi people.

The Sámi are the indigenous people of the northern parts of Finland, and also Norway, Sweden and Russia. The Sámi people are the only recognized indigenous people within the European Union. Their status as an indigenous people is affirmed in the Constitution of Finland. They have a rich and diverse culture that includes their own languages, art, music, clothing, religion, and traditional knowledge. The Sámi have historically pursued various livelihoods, but they are best known for their semi-nomadic reindeer herding.

Siida on paikka, jossa voit oppia saamelaiskulttuurista ja pohjoisesta luonnosta. Se on museo ja luontokeskus Inarissa, jossa on näyttelyitä, tapahtumia, kirjasto, kahvila ja kauppa. Siidassa on myös ulkomuseo, joka esittelee saamelaisten perinteisiä rakennuksia ja elinkeinoja.

Saamelaiset ovat alkuperäiskansa, joka asuu Pohjois-Suomessa sekä Norjassa, Ruotsissa ja Venäjällä. Saamelaiset ovat Euroopan unionin alueen ainoa tunnustettu alkuperäiskansa. Saamelaisten alkuperäiskansa-asema on vahvistettu Suomen perustuslaissa. Heillä on rikas ja monimuotoinen kulttuuri, johon kuuluvat omat kielet, taide, musiikki, vaatetus, uskonto ja perinteinen tieto. Saamelaiset ovat historiallisesti harjoittaneet monia elinkeinoja, mutta heidät tunnetaan erityisesti puolipaimentolaisesta poronhoidosta.
