Getting a Taxi in Cádiz

Cadiz doesn't have Uber, and Taxis are not straightforward to get. This is what you need to do to get a Taxi.

Cadiz, Spain

Unlike many larger cities, ride-sharing services such as Uber are not widely available in Cádiz. Fortunately, local taxis are reliable, easy to use, and reasonably priced.

How to Call a Taxi

If you need a taxi, you can call one of the main local dispatch numbers:

  • (+34) 956 21 21 21

  • (+34) 956 21 21 22

These numbers connect you to the city’s taxi service, and operators can dispatch a car directly to your location.

Taxi Stands

You will also find official taxi stands near:

  • Cádiz Train Station

  • Major hotels

  • Popular plazas and transportation hubs

Payment

Most taxis accept credit cards, but it is always a good idea to carry some cash in case the card machine is unavailable.

Language Tip

If you do not speak Spanish, you can simply provide your hotel name or address. Having the address saved on your phone is helpful.

Typical Uses

Taxis are especially useful for:

  • Early morning departures

  • Trips to and from the train station

  • Airport transfers

  • Returning to your hotel late at night

My Experience

During my stay, I found taxis to be dependable and straightforward to arrange by phone. Since Uber was not available, keeping these two phone numbers saved on my phone made getting around much easier.

Personal Recommendation

Save both taxi numbers before your trip so you can quickly request a ride whenever needed. While Cádiz is very walkable, taxis are a convenient option when carrying luggage or traveling outside the historic center.
